Planning a corporate event, wedding, house party, or any other type of reception? Have a specific sound in mind? Halley will tailor a small jazz ensemble to create the sound and mood for your party.
Halley Shoenberg’s jazz ensembles perform a variety of music for listening, background, dining and dancing. She includes some or all of these styles at each event:
- Classic American songs from Gershwin, Porter, Rogers and Hart, Rogers and Hammerstein, Arlen, Ellington and more
- Lively Swing and Dixieland
- Dance music - Swing, Salsa, Tango, Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha-cha, Rumba, Polka, Hora and more
- Tunes sung by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald
- Jazz from Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Stan Getz and more
- Latin, Rock, Funk and Blues
Standard instrumentation for the Halley Shoenberg Jazz Quartet includes Halley Shoenberg (saxophone, clarinet, flute), guitar or piano, bass and drums. For larger ensembles, more horns and/or a vocalist can be added. For a lighter sound, choose a jazz trio without drums. A jazz duo or just solo saxophone are more options.
